About

A place to keep the music, the pictures, and the memory of Kindred Spirit — a Johnstown, Pennsylvania band — together in one home.

Kindredspirit.music is a private tribute archive to Kindred Spirit, the Johnstown band that grew out of The Grapes of Wrath and played the clubs, teen canteens, and the War Memorial across more than three decades. It gathers what survives of the band in one place: the 1970 Intrepid singles, decades of live tapes, photographs and the paper trail, and long interviews with the members who were there.

Most of this history lived in shoeboxes, on cassettes, and in the memories of the people who lived it — scattered, and at risk of being lost. This site pulls it together and preserves it in the members’ own voices, for their families, their friends, and anyone who ever danced to the band. It is a labor of love, built with the band’s knowledge and permission — not a commercial venture, and not for public or commercial distribution.

The site was built by Peter — Gerry Falvo’s son and Greg Falvo’s nephew — who designed and coded it, digitized and restored the tapes, scanned the photographs, and recorded the interviews. The stories, songs, and images belong to the band members and their families; Peter simply gave them a home on the web.
